I am starting a new series called Photo of the Week. It has been a while since I have found myself behind a camera but recently the fire was rekindled. Not sure if it was due to the adventures through the forest of Oregon with my son and just a desire to get back behind the lens. Regardless, for the past few weeks I have been going through my collection of photographs that I have taken over the year and decided to start to share them. To do that I am starting a weekly commitment to post one a week. Probably some time mid week but I cannot promise it will always be on Wednesday.
To start off the new series I have selected one of my favorite people pictures. Normally I am not a big fan of people pictures but every once in a while you seem a moment happening that has to be captured on film. This time we were up in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming with some friends. We had just finished hiking and fishing on the Big Horn river and off course we caught our limit, NOT. The day was a typical summer day on the North Central Wyoming mountain; aired but not too hot. A mountain breeze swept across your face as you walked. Shorts and t-shirts were in order and in this case as we relaxed on a bench outside of Beartooth Lodge the joys and laughter of children and be heard amidst the chomping on Orange Creamsicle’s and Ice Cream sandwiches.
The photograph was certainly not a planned shot. It was taken handheld with out a flash and a Nikon D7000, ISO 500, Exposure 1/160 sec at f6.3. Lens was a Nikon 35mm f1.8 dx. Minor post processing was completed using Adobe Lightroom.
